If the candidates fail to address the deficiency within the specified deadline, NMC has stated that their applications will be rejected. A comprehensive list of candidates with pending applications, along with their names, father’s names, and application numbers, has been released by the commission.
The applicants mentioned in Annexure-I have been observed to have traveled abroad without obtaining an Eligibility Certificate. Consequently, the Board has made the decision to provide a 10-day window for all such applicants (Annexure-I) to submit their applications in the eligibility portal of NMC. If the applicants mentioned in Annexure-I fail to rectify the deficiencies or submit their applications within 10 days from the date of this notice, their applications will be summarily rejected,” stated NMC in an official notification. In October of this year, NMC had issued a call for applications for the FMGE 2023 eligibility certificate. The Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of NMC assessed the applications and identified certain shortcomings.

The students were informed by the commission about the guidelines stated in the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. According to these guidelines, any Indian citizen who wishes to pursue a medical qualification from a foreign medical institution must obtain an eligibility certificate issued by the Council. Failure to obtain this certificate will render the individual ineligible to appear in the screening test. The National Medical Commission (NMC) further emphasized that the requirement of an eligibility certificate for studying abroad has been implemented after the announcement of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2019 result. Additionally, qualifying the NEET exam has become mandatory for both Indian and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) students seeking admission to MBBS programs in foreign institutions.
