Types of Counselling
- There are two types of NEET counselling: All India and State. The counselling process for NEET-UG is as follows.
- All India Quota Seats MCC Counselling. AIQ NEET 2022 will offer admission to 15% of government medical and dental colleges seats, all seats in deemed universities, central universities, and ESIC, AFMC, and AIIMS & JIPMER.B SC Nursing in Central Institute
- State Quota seats for NEET UG Counselling. All seats in private minority/non-minority unaided/aided medical/dental colleges in the state will be filled through NEET counselling in 2022 for 85% of the seats in state government colleges.

What is the eligibility criteria for NEET counselling 2022?
- Only NEET qualified candidates are eligible to apply for NEET 2021 counselling.
- Jammu and Kashmir candidates will not be eligible to participate in All India NEET counselling unless they give their assent.
- Candidates who have registered on MCC website for NEET 2021 counselling
- All NEET qualified candidates are eligible to participate in the AIQ counselling for Deemed Universities
Deemed University are autonomous University of India they have right to take their own decision about College,and they are self dependent. They area also UGC recognised,getting deemed university is proud if u have money ,prefer only top deemed university like KMC,KIMS ,Ramachandra ,SRM etc.
NEET Counselling Procedure:
Documents to be Required during counselling
- NEET Admit Card
- NEET Result
- Class 10 certificate and marksheet
- Class 12 certificate and marksheet
- Domicile/ residency proof (only for states)
- Photo ID
- Any other as specified
- NEET All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling will be conducted by MCC (Medical Counseling Committee), while the State Counselling will be conducted by the respective state exam authority.
NEET 2021 Counselling Registration
- Candidates can check the procedure of NEET 2021 counselling –
Step 1: Registration for Counselling
- MCI conducts the counselling to fill 15% All India Quota Seats in two rounds followed by a mop-up round for Deemed & Central University. The steps involved in NEET Counselling Registration are as follows:
- Step I: Visit the official website of MCC and click on ‘New Registration’.
- Enter Roll Number, Application Number, Candidate name, Mother name, Date of Birth, Mobile number, Email ID and Security Pin as per your admit card. After entering all the required information, a new Roll No. and Password will be generated. Use these credentials to register for NEET Counselling.
- Step II: Log on to the MCC website and click on ‘Candidate login’.
- Step III: Enter your Roll Number and Password.
- Step IV: You will be redirected to a new page where you will have to enter details like Name, Roll No., Registration No., Mother’s Name, Contact No., etc. When you’re done, click on ‘Submit’.
- Step V: After this, you will be shown all your details as per the NTA database. Verify the information and click on ‘Confirm Registration’. A Registration Slip will be generated. Candidates are advised to save this page.
Step 2: NEET Counselling Fee Payment
After successful registration, candidates are asked to submit refundable and non-refundable NEET counselling fee. The fee can be paid through an online medium like Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. Candidates can check the NEET counselling fee in the table given below-

Step 2: Choice Filling
- Selection of courses: You will have to select the course of your preference.
- Selection of college: You are also supposed to provide your selection preferences for college.
Step 3: Seat Allotment
- Rounds: The process of seat allotment is conducted in three rounds.
- Allotment: You will be allocated seats based on your rank in NEET and choices provided during the online registration for the counselling process.
- Exceptions: In addition to centralized counselling, few deemed institutes may organize their own counselling procedure.
- Reporting: After the seat allotment, You will have to report to the college for admissions.
Round 2
- Step 1: New Registration for Round 2 of Counselling.
- Step 2:Fresh choice filling and locking for Round 2.
- Step 3:Seat allotment result of Roud 2.
- Step 4:Reporting college based on the Round 2 allotment result.
Exit with forfeiture vs Exit with Free Exit in NEET Counselling 2022?
Free Exit (only for round 1) – If a candidate allotted a seat in round 1 does not report/join the allotted college, he/she would not be penalized (security deposit will not be forfeited ). Such candidates will be eligible for subsequent rounds.
Exit with forfeiture – If a candidate is allotted a seat in round 2 and does not want to join the allotted seat he/she can still exit with forfeiture (losing security amount deposited) within the given time period.
Candidates who have joined the allotted seat in the second round would not be eligible for resigning/surrender of the seat and will not be allowed to participate in state counselling either.
NEET 2022 Counselling – Mop Up Round for Deemed/ Central Universities/Central Institute
- Step 1: Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)
- Step 2: Choice Filling/ Choice Locking
- Step 3: Seat Allotment for NEET counselling Mop Up Round.
- Step 4: Result Publication
- Step 5: Reporting at the Allotted Medical/ Dental College
- Step 6: List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of a number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
- Step 7: Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
Counselling for 85% State Quota Seats
- For State quota and other seats falling under the authorities of States, candidates may apply to their domicile states and a merit list as per State rules and based on All India Rank will be prepared by concerned Counselling Authorities.
- The counselling for Private Medical Colleges is also conducted by the concerned State Counselling Authority.
- Candidates need to register on their concerned state’s counselling websites.
- Counselling will be conducted on the basis of the candidate’s rank in the state merit list.
- Admission to colleges in J&K will be done solely on the basis of state counselling
