Unlike India, Romania does not conduct a centralized entrance exam like NEET-UG for medical admissions. Instead, each university sets its own admission requirements. However, there are some common academic cutoffs you should know:
1. Academic Cutoff
Minimum Marks: At least 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) in 10+2 or equivalent.
For Reserved Categories (India): As per NMC rules, 40% marks in PCB are accepted if applying to practice later in India.
Some top universities may expect higher marks (60–70% in PCB) due to high competition for limited English-medium seats.
2. NEET Cutoff (for Indian Students)
To apply for MBBS abroad, Indian students must qualify NEET-UG.
There is no fixed NEET score requirement for Romanian universities — you just need to be NEET qualified (minimum marks set by NTA each year).
Example (recent NEET qualifying marks):
General Category: ~138–720 (approx.)
SC/ST/OBC: ~108–137 (approx.)
These change every year depending on NEET exam difficulty.
3. University-Specific Selection
Some universities conduct a short entrance test or interview (Biology, Chemistry, English).
Others select purely on academic merit in PCB + application strength.
✅ Quick Tip for Students: Competition is higher for top universities like Carol Davila (Bucharest) and Cluj-Napoca, where the cutoff may practically be 70%+ in PCB due to limited seats. Smaller cities/universities may accept students closer to the minimum 50% requirement.
